Everyone has a seat at the table; everyone has a unique voice. As a group, we are all Seawolves, but our strength comes from sharing the individual and unique path each of us has walked to get here.
Tabor students grow into their independence gradually with new milestones each year. They find balance and strength while learning how to manage their time and energy among so many opportunities. It is in the process of self-discovery that they find true independence.
At its simplest, our school motto All-A-Taut-O is a nautical phrase of Greek origin meaning “shipshape.” On a ship, it’s a crew working to reach their destination. At Tabor, it means students and faculty pulling together toward our common goal: exceptional readiness for the journey ahead.
Value of a Team
At Tabor, our Seawolves learn that the value of a team is not measured in wins and losses. It is learning how to be a great teammate, whether it happens to be through academics, athletics, arts, or campus leadership. While we may go faster on our own, we go further working together.
Mentorship is about putting the right adult in front of the right student, at the right time and in the right context. We seek transformative growth for our students by creating an adult community that fosters trust and shares high expectations with our students. In this context, mentorship often lasts for a lifetime.
School by the Sea
Each student at Tabor has a different relationship to our location. Some students are eager to study the complex marine ecosystem right outside our windows. Others row or sail with teammates. There is plentiful inspiration for photography and painting projects. No matter how you choose to spend your time, the stunning backdrop of Sippican Harbor is magical for us all.
Tabor students celebrate each other’s successes, work collaboratively, and expect best effort from each other in all pursuits. We learn most when we support each other to be the best we can be each day. When you have classmates who value learning, you become a better student.
Right Sized School
Our school is small enough to forge a strong sense of community, but large enough – and diverse enough – to always make a new friend or try a new skill. Tabor’s supportive community leaves room for you to be you, while always being one of us.
